Overview

The Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) program is for professionals who have demonstrated the skills to successfully implement improved purchasing and supply chain practices as part of a business solution in an organization.

CPP applicants are first evaluated on ethical standards and maturity, demonstrated through their reputation, financial responsibility, and ability to communicate. Coworkers and suppliers are contacted for references, which are kept strictly confidential. A review of academic achievement, experience, and contributions to the purchasing profession is then used to award points toward the certification.

A nationwide APS survey found that professionals who earned the CPP designation earned an average of 23.4% more than other purchasing and supply chain professionals.

APS survey data shows CPPs earn an average of 23.4% more than non-certified purchasing professionals.
